Welcome to Pack 552

Cub Scout Pack 552 is a welcoming, family-focused pack for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. We believe Scouting is about much more than earning badges. It's about discovering new interests, building confidence, developing leadership skills, and creating lasting memories with family and friends.

Our Scouts are organized into grade-level dens, allowing them to learn and grow alongside peers their own age. Each den is led by caring volunteers who guide Scouts through exciting adventures designed to encourage curiosity, teamwork, and personal growth. Throughout the year, Scouts participate in hands-on activities that help them develop practical skills while living the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

From building Pinewood Derby cars and learning outdoor skills to serving the community and exploring nature, every adventure encourages Scouts to learn by doing. Along the way, they develop confidence, responsibility, and friendships that often last well beyond their Cub Scout years.

Growing Through Every Rank

Every stage of Cub Scouting is designed to meet children where they are while preparing them for the next step in their journey.

Lions (Kindergarten) begin their Scouting adventure alongside an adult partner. Through games, crafts, outdoor exploration, and simple adventures, Lions discover that learning can be exciting and fun.

Tigers (1st Grade) continue exploring with the support of an adult partner while building confidence through age-appropriate adventures, field trips, and hands-on activities that encourage curiosity and teamwork.

Wolves (2nd Grade) begin taking on greater responsibility as they learn new skills, solve problems, and work together with their den. Adventures become more interactive while still encouraging family participation.

Bears (3rd Grade) continue developing leadership, independence, and confidence through outdoor activities, service projects, STEM exploration, and exciting challenges that encourage Scouts to always do their best.

Webelos (4th Grade) prepare Scouts for the next stage of Scouting by introducing more advanced outdoor skills, teamwork, leadership opportunities, and greater personal responsibility.

Arrow of Light (5th Grade) is the highest rank in Cub Scouting. During this final year, Scouts strengthen their leadership skills, build confidence, and prepare to transition into Scouts BSA, where even greater adventures await.

Pack 552 is proudly led by volunteers who are passionate about creating meaningful experiences for every Scout. Our leaders, committee members, and parents work together to organize meetings, campouts, service projects, and special events throughout the year.

Scouting is truly a family program, and every family plays an important role in helping our pack grow. Whether you're leading a den, helping at an event, or simply cheering on your Scout, your involvement makes a difference.

What to Expect

Families often ask how much time Cub Scouting requires. The answer is simple—you decide what works best for your family.

Most dens meet once or twice each month to complete adventures, learn new skills, and spend time together. The entire pack also gathers monthly for a Pack Meeting where Scouts celebrate achievements, participate in fun activities, and connect with the rest of the pack.

In addition to regular meetings, Pack 552 offers a variety of optional events throughout the year, including camping trips, hikes, service projects, outdoor adventures, and family activities. We understand that families have busy schedules, so participation is flexible. Whether your Scout attends every event or joins us when they can, they'll always be welcomed with enthusiasm.

Adventures All Year Long

There's always something happening in Pack 552.

Our annual calendar includes favorite traditions like the Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold Banquet, Rain Gutter Regatta, family campouts, Summer Resident Camp, hiking adventures, rocket launches, STEM activities, fishing, holiday celebrations, community service projects, and much more.

Every activity is designed to inspire curiosity, encourage leadership, strengthen friendships, and remind our Scouts that learning happens best through adventure.

Membership & Costs

Annual dues help provide a quality Scouting experience for every member of Pack 552. Membership includes registration with Scouting America, advancement awards, Pinewood Derby materials, rank neckerchiefs and slides, pack programming, meeting supplies, and many of the activities that make our program successful.

Membership is approximately $225 for new Scouts and $200 for returning Scouts. Families should also plan to purchase the official Cub Scout uniform for Scouts in first through fifth grade, as well as any optional fees for special events or camping trips.

If the cost of Scouting presents a challenge, please reach out to our leadership team. Financial assistance may be available, and we are committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to experience the adventure of Scouting.

Uniforms

Scouts in first through fifth grade wear the official Cub Scout uniform in our pack which includes a blue Cub Scout shirt, rank neckerchief, neckerchief slide, belt, hat and appropriate patches. Our leaders are always happy to help new families find affordable options, including gently used uniforms whenever available.
